Video Premiere: Gregg Hill “Places in Between”

Here’s the mellow new single from pianist, guitarist and singer Gregg Hill, who has travelled the USA and called many places home.  He is now based in New Orleans where he has absorbed the area’s music and forged relationships with the talented local artists.  Although he’s been writing songs since childhood, it’s only since moving to New Orleans that he has begun to see himself as a performer.  ‘Places in Between’ is timeless song, showcasing Hill’s fine songwriting and trademark country-folk.  Over the warmth of a low, pulsing bass, Hill’s bright strum and tender vocal melody, supported by the voice of Joy Clark, are engaging and make for an easy, classic sound.   In Roland Guerin’s video, we see Hill deliver a heartfelt performance.

This is taken from the forthcoming full-length album ‘Bayou St. John’, which is due for release on 15th September 2023.  The album is named after the region where Lake Pontchartrain meets the Mississippi River, where Hill wrote most of the songs on the record.  Hill is joined on the album by bassist / vocalist Roland Guerin and Doug Belotte on drums and their gentle rhythms enhance Hill’s authentic country-folk sound.   Enjoy.
