Video Premiere: Tyler Edwards “Delta”

The new video from Tyler Edwards features absolutely breathtaking scenery, making it utterly hypnotic to watch as the camera pans around incredible locations.  The gorgeous visuals are fitting for a beautiful song that includes thoughtful images and references to the natural world and our place within it.  Edwards’ vocal is a hushed, intimate conversation, understated and absorbing.   Edwards told AUK about writing the song: “‘Delta’ is one of those songs that I don’t totally remember recording, but I do remember how hard it was to write. However, once I got the lyrics and melodies, the song rewarded me by playing itself. I recorded the vocals, initial guitars, and song structure as a demo to show my producer and mixer at 2am. I sent it off that night right when I finished it. The next morning, they both emailed me back saying they really liked it, and we decided to make it part of the record. From there, we just added the additional elements as heard on the album.”

Now based in Nashville, Edwards’ career started in the South Carolina rock band, I Anthem, with whom he enjoyed several top ten song entries on Billboard’s Rock Charts as well as music featured on MTV.  His solo career began in 2015 when he relocated to Seattle.  This single is taken from Edward’s forthcoming sophomore album ‘A Falling Sky’, which is due out on 30th September.  Alongside friend and producer Jim Stephens, Edwards has taken his time over creating the new record, recording the songs over a period of four years to ensure that they are of the highest quality.  Coming six years after his last full-length record, ‘A Falling Sky’ delivers intimate stories and observations, ably supported by excellent collaborators, including mixing by Ryan Freeland (Ray LaMontagne, Bonnie Raitt, The Barr Brothers) and mastering by Kim Rosen (Aimee Mann, Rhiannon Giddens, The Milk Carton Kids, The Avett Brothers).  Ultimately, the multi-instrumentalist Edwards is at the heart of the writing and performances, playing banjo and ukulele as well as guitar.  Edwards is proving himself to be a fine songwriter with a characterful, engaging voice.  Check this out.
