Video Premiere: Pillarstone “Run Fox Run”

Check out the new single from Irish musical project Pillarstone. Run Fox Run is an example of excellent songcraft, blending the energy and feel of various genres, including rock, Celtic folk, americana, and indie influences. Alex Soikans delivers stunning lead guitar, with a solo that emerges naturally from the song’s rich melody. Meanwhile, at the heart of Run Fox Run, Adam Power contributes gorgeously warm, tuneful bass, and drummer John Daly urges the band on. Paul J Bolger’s vocals are clear and pure, his voice rising and falling in an engaging melodic flow; the anthemic chorus is a particular highlight.

Pillarstone is the new musical collaboration between Irish singer-songwriter Paul J Bolger and Manchester-born, Waterford-based musician and producer Alex Soikans. Soikans has been working with Bolger since 2020, performing Bolger’s original songs around Ireland. For this new project, the pair work with a rotating group of talented Irish musicians who, together, aim to create fresh songs that transcend genre.

Bolger says of the collaboration: “We are musical magpies and like music from different eras and genres, and we meet in the middle with organic guitar-driven sounds. It’s just the way it comes out when we write – we create songs we want to hear on our own turntables.”

Pillarstone’s debut album, Mono Lit, is due for release on 12th June 2026. We can expect more fine songwriting and great tunes.
