Dean Owens is back from the States for UK Dates

Dean OwensBack following a 2 month, 12 state tour of the United States, Dean Owens returns for dates in the UK next month. Touring as Dean Owens & The Southerners, Dean will be joined by fellow band members Tom Collison (Instrumentalist of the Year, American Music Association UK, 2018) and Jim Maving, whose distinguished career includes stints with Case Hardin and as Mick Ralphs’ (Mott The Hoople/Bad Company) go to guitarist.

Dean Owens was probably responsible for the most heartfelt of all the speeches at the AmericanaFest UK awards night in January 2019 when he was presented with the accolade for UK Song of the Year by Graham Gouldman. The song in question – the title track from latest album release ‘Southern Wind’ – was recorded and produced in Nashville and co-written with Will Kimbrough. Released in 2018, ‘Southern Wind’ featured in many critics’ best of the year lists and was recognised by Dave Clarke of AUK as “a very special album.”

Dean also won an award for International Songwriting Competition for ‘Love Prevails’, another co-write with Will Kimbrough.
