Exclusive AUK Mini-Gig: Jaime Wyatt

In these strange times, gigs are rare and precious.  To spread a little hope and joy, we have been bringing you, dear reader, occasional exclusive mini-gigs to sustain you until live music returns in full.  Some wonderful artists have supplied us with engrossing, absorbing performances and our latest offering is a real treat.  Self-styled Outlaw Country Queen, Jaime Wyatt, has recorded two songs exclusively for us.  First up is the upbeat, foot-tapping ‘Rattlesnake Girl’.  It’s infectious and dynamic: the perfect way to begin.  Then, Wyatt delivers an outstanding version of the melodic, heartfelt ‘Mercy’.

Wyatt’s story is full of loss and turmoil, involving addiction, incarceration and coming out as gay.  She enjoyed success young and then nearly lost it all.  Wyatt carries her pain in her powerful voice and intimate lyrics.  And her new album – widely well-received – is a triumphant return.  Produced by two-time Grammy Award-winning producer Shooter Jennings and ranging across styles and genres, ‘Neon Cross’ was described by AUK as: “…a beautifully crafted and diverse, retro-modern country record.”  Read the full review here.

A brilliant, full-band performance from Jaime Wyatt is just how to end your week and start your weekend.  Enjoy.

Jaime is a very talented lady, both as a performer and a song writer. If you haven’t given her a listen yet do yourself a favour and press play. If you want to know more about her here is an AUK interview with her https://americana-uk.com/interview-jamie-wyatt-the-new-queen-of-outlaw-country
