“I I fall no one sees / I don’t have a friend / If I break please believe me / I’m in the lion’s den” sings Holly Lovell on this naked declaration of helplessness and a bleak, bleak, view of the potential future: “Me in the lion’s den / me and my darkest friends / Me and my vices / Me trying to hide it.”
‘Lion’s Den‘ is taken from the very personal album ‘Hello Chelsea’, due February 7, 2025. In its simplest terms ‘Hello Chelsea’ is about addiction, grief, family history, healing and New York City.Denver based Holly Lovell lost her Uncle to addiction says this song “built my empathy and helped me move forward in my grief.” Accompanying her on the track is her younger brother, Caleb Lovell, on drums. “We have played music together since he was 10 and I was thirteen,” she recalls. “To have him on this record means so much.“
