Sometimes these introductions write themselves – we know you know who Lucinda Williams, we know you know who Mavis Staples is, and we’d expect a good proportion of you to recognise ‘So Much Trouble In The World’ as a Bob Marley song.  So all we really need to do is remind you that Lucinda Williams will release her new album “” on January 26th on Highway 20 Records / Thirty Tigers.

Oh, I guess we could let you know what Lucinda told us about why she wanted to record this song.  Ok.  Well, she said: “’So Much Trouble In The World’ was a song that hit me right away, and we had been messing around with for a few years – when the new album started to take on a topical nature we knew that we absolutely had to get it recorded. It was a centerpiece of the record and who better to get to sing it with me than Mavis Staples. I am so thrilled that the two of us could finally do something together, and on such an amazing song.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
