Section House “Hobo’s Lonesome Blues” – discarded and alone…

This latest example of a bluegrass tune that we’ve had to hand has a very traditional feel to it – and that’s no accident because Section House is something of a supergroup but together to channel a love for, you’ve guessed it, traditional sounding bluegrass.  Section House are Bryan McDowell on fiddle and lead vocals, Cory Walker on banjo, Gaven Largent on dobro and harmony vocals, Jake Stargel on guitar, Aaron Ramsey on mandolin and Jeff Partin on bass – all individually in demand for their solo or other band work.

Hobo’s Lonesome Blues, written by Bryan McDowell, has it all – traintracks, heartbreak and a gal that’s left the narrator high and dry and with nothing else to do but hit the road with soulful of sorrow as his only companion.  One could weep.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
