Something for the weekend: First Aid Kit “Ready to Run”

Well that’s it for another week dearest of readers. Hope you enjoyed reading your own choices for the best albums of the 21st century yesterday which prove that we are all basically on the same page in harmonious synchronicity. We leave you with a track from an album which might not be a best in class for this century but still has some absolute gems on. ‘Palomino’ is the fifth album from Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit, a record which The Guardian described earlier this week as “a glorious blast of loved-up Americana” and if that doesn’t make you want to listen to it then there is no justice in this cruel world. Highlights include the elegant lament ‘Angel’ and ‘Wild Horses II’ about two lovers arguing over whether the Stones or the Flying Burrito Brothers performed the best version of ‘Wild Horses’ but we’re leaving you with ‘Ready to Run’ which we just can’t get out of our ears. Have a good one.
