The Americans “Stand True” – loyal to the end

The title track of the new album – out on Loose Records on April 29th – The Americans cover a lot of ground, from folksy opening to glowing folk rock to glistening psychedelic rock on a song that declares that whatever the changes might be “I’ll stand true by you / if that’s what you want me to do.”  Unconditional commitment – if that’s what’s desired.

Following their 2017 debut album, ‘I’ll Be Yours‘, The Americans took a step back, regained focus, and went into Big Bad Sound studios in Los Angeles to carve out an album of material that “is more our own than ever before,” the band affirms.  It sounds – as the cool kids say – ace.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
