The Georgia Thunderbolts “Can I Get A Witness?” – Hammer of the Gods

The Georgia Thunderbolts, as you’ve probably already part surmised, hail out of Rome, Georgia at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.  And the music they make is classic Southern Rock – emphasizing heavy riffage and gut-wrenching vocals.  It is rock in its very old-school purity – straightforward lyrics delivered with power, even bombast in places if required, as an uplifting (and air-punching) anthem.

Can I Get a Witness‘ is taken from the band’s debut album ‘Can We get a Witness‘, which is out on October 15th, and if it has a message then, as drummer Bristol Perry explains, it is this “It’s okay to be yourself. If you’re going through hard times, the music will always be there. We’d love to remind everyone of that.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
