Track Premiere: The Jaws Of Brooklyn “Sugar Sugar” – Strutting garage-rock sounds

Let’s close out a week which has shifted from world-weary folk through some mid-week high-jiggery to touches of psychedelia with a piece of polished garage, if that’s not too much of an oxymoron for y’all.  ‘Sugar Sugar‘ does not also extoll, Archies like, the merits of honey and candy girls… rather it’s more about taking the euphemism route: “sugar sugar, my sugar lover, and now you’re pushin’, you knock me over” Lindsay Love sings, adding “he wakes me up to rollick-rollick, says it’s now or never“.  Ok, I think we’re catching the drift here…

This is the final single to be released in advance of the upcoming album ‘The Shoals‘, which arrives July 22nd.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
