On the raucous rocking new single from The Wood Brothers, we are provided with a philosophy of life which resonates with the distorted accompaniment. “The trick” the brothers sing “is to not give a damn.” Imagine how sweet life could be then. Maybe musical fame beckons because you were “S’posed to be someone, you created,” all that’s needed is to sell your soul to the music machine, and it’s all gravy from there. Only problem being “you’re almost there, but you still give a shit – I heard the trick is not to give a damn.” And it’s possible to look around the world and see that having no shame holding one back can certainly lead on to success.
‘The Trick‘ is the third single from The Wood Brothers’ latest album “Puff Of Smoke” and heralds an extensive tour across the length and, yes, the breadth as well of the USA. But not Europe, or, specifically, the UK. Ah well.
