Here is the distinctive, resonant voice of Brent Amaker and a typically stylish video from Brent Amaker Deathsquad. The Seattle-based band are a sister act to Brent Amaker and the Rodeo and are all set for the release of their debut full-length album today, 17th July. This catchy number is the title track. The DeathSquad came together while Amaker took a break from the Rodeo and began to play with talented women musicians in Seattle, including Darci Carlson (bass, vocals) and Nozomi Momo (drums, vocals). The result is here and the band’s sound relies on the interplay between the male and female vocals. Check out the new album.

From up north but now hiding in rural Suffolk. An insomniac music-lover. Love discovering new music to get lost in - country, singer-songwriters, Americana, rock...whatever. Currently enjoying Nils Lofgren, Ferris & Sylvester, Tommy Prine, Jarrod Dickenson, William Prince, Frank Turner, Our Man in the Field...
That song’s quite the grower – and the album’s excellent too. If you like Lee Hazlewood you’ll (probably) like the Deathsquad’s album.
