Video: Clara Mann “Remember Me (Train Song)”

The new single from London-based Clara Mann is beautifully written and performed.  Mann’s melodic voice and emotive words are full of heart and longing, floating over delicate guitar.  Heavenly harmonies elevate her voice further.  The video, starring an ‘Empty Man Suit’ puppet, is deeply affecting and effective in creating a sense of loss and absence

Mann says of the song: “‘Remember Me (Train Song)’ is about memory and absence. It’s made up of people who are now out of sight, in whatever way, and how, when you lose something, or someone treasured, you live in relation to the space they leave, long after they’re gone.”  Her explanation of the song’s meaning is as thoughtfully expressed as the intimate poetry of her lyrics.  The subtle craft of her writing is timeless and compelling.

The single is taken from “The Rift”, the debut album due for release on 7th March 2025.  The collection is themed around the in-between and placelessness, in motion between loss and hope.  It’s incredibly transparent and personal, with Mann inviting us into her emotional world although these memories of guilt, pain, hope and truth will certainly resonate with listener as these are universal experiences.  Mann has previously toured with the likes of Daniel Rossen (Grizzly Bear), Billie Marten and Bill Ryder-Jones and will be touring the UK again this year.  Look out for the album and tour – beautiful stuff.
