The latest single from Larkin Poe is infectiously upbeat with a great, grooving rhythm. “Easy Love Pt. 1” has a catchy vocal melody and a bright guitar strum, both of which will undoubtedly sound fabulous live. Throughout it all the wailing lap steel is driving everything and is truly captivating when unleashed in a sliding, searing solo. This romantic anthem is brought to life with the vibrant colours of the 1970s-inspired video. The sisters and the band are all immersed in the music and look like they’re simply having fun – something they convey to us listeners.
Rebecca Lovell says of the song: “‘Easy Love Pt. 1’ is, hands down, the truest and most detailed love song I’ve ever written. As referenced in the lyrics: there is in fact an Eiffel Tower recreation in Paris, TX. And yes, it does have a little cowboy hat on top. We can’t wait to perform this song live, the instrumental interlude creates a trippy little 70’s rock ’n’ roll moment that we can’t wait to jam out.”
The single appears on the brand new album “Bloom”, which is the follow-up to 2023’s GRAMMY Award-winning “Blood Harmony”. Immediately listenable and likeable, the songs are themed around round identity and self-awareness. Rebecca explains: “‘Bloom’ is about finding oneself amidst the noise of the world, about wholeheartedly embracing the flaws and idiosyncrasies that make us real. In one way or another, pretty much all of the songs on this album are about finding yourself, knowing yourself, and separating the truth of who you are from societal expectations.” The sisters, Megan and Rebecca Lovell, are outstanding instrumentalists and equally impressive and prolific songwriters – check it out for yourself on their seventh studio record, which is out now..
