Enjoy the new performance video for Diggin’ In The Coal from Kentucky-born singer-songwriter Leah Blevins, recorded live at Easy Eye Sound. Over gorgeously warm twin acoustic guitars, Blevins delivers a pure, perfect country vocal performance that winds its way through her narrative and an absorbing melody. Directed by Zack Gregory, the video captures these gifted musicians at work.
The original song features on the Dan Auerbach-produced album All Dressed Up, which was released earlier in 2026. The album showcases Blevins’ sweetly tuneful voice and her soulful take on country and americana. Blevins’ second album, and her first to be released on Easy Eye Sound, has been well-received, winning over a sizeable audience. No stranger to hardship, Blevins channels her life experience into her creativity; she says: “The way you speak to yourself is more powerful than any outside voice. I think I’m innocent to the world, but I harbour all these experiences I’ve had. I spent so much of my life in a small town, trying to prove I’m something I’m not… I had an amazing English teacher who allowed us all to be bigger than Sandy Hook, studying Sylvia Plath and C.S. Lewis, just creating a world so far beyond what we knew.”
Blevins was introduced to Dan Auerbach by friend Marcus King. She connected with him immediately and was encouraged to lean into honest storytelling, stripping away the polish. Blevins says: “Instead of being so put together, these songs say, ‘I’m human. I can be insecure.’ That’s real freedom.”
This month, Blevins will be making her first appearances in the UK. As well as supporting The Black Crowes, she will be performing for large audiences at Hyde Park on 27th June and at the inaugural State Fayre Festival in Chelmsford the following day. At State Fayre, Blevins is in an impressive line-up, alongside the likes of The Lumineers, Kings of Leon, Molly Tuttle, Kezia Gill, Elvis Costello, Sierra Ferrell, Counting Crows, Orville Peck and Elles Bailey. It promises to be an exciting introduction to the UK. Check out the album and catch her live on tour if you can.
