Video: Dusty Wright “Where to Be” – now I know where to go

Written with London-based singer-songwriter David Ogilvy, the latest video from Dusty Wright is a brilliantly melodic song that explores the comfort to be found in our memories. Wright’s vocal performance is gently tuneful as he winds through past experiences, repeating, “Now I know where to go // When it gets dark // Now I know where to be,” while Ogilvy’s echoing backing adds to the nostalgia. Erik Deutsch’s organ (on loan from The Black Crowes tour) creates bright flourishes alongside Ogilvy’s sweet mandolin. The overall sound is hypnotic, rich and warm, founded on Kevin Mackall’s smooth bass.

The accompanying video features a blend of old photographs and colourful animation, created and edited by Said Kanoun for Jellytopsis Productions. Kanoun also animated the archival photos to effectively reinforce the links to the past. ‘Where to Be’ appears on the upcoming album “Maximus Americanus”, which is due for release in March 2026 – an album to look out for early in the new year.
