This is a beautiful, hymn-like call for unity and change in difficult times. Gilkyson has written a song that may feel like a traditional folk sing-along but is for here and now. Ultimately, the song is full of hope and inspires much-needed courage and the belief that, if we work together, we can make a difference: “It’ll take everyone to make this dream come true.” It features excellent slide guitar from Mike Hardwick and the fabulous voices of Pastor Sam Butler (Blind Boys of Alabama) and his daughters Shamara and Samia, amongst others. The way the vocals blend is the highlight of this single, which is taken from the recent album ‘2020’. Enjoy the groove.
