Video: TJ Rosenthal “Where the Lights Get Low”

‘Where the Lights Get Low’ is the compelling new single from New York City’s TJ Rosenthal. Immediately absorbing, Jerry Mac’s guitar-work shimmers with his melodic strum while additional instrumental layers come from Annie Taylor Sloan on sweeping lap steel and Michael Hunter’s fiddle, bringing beautiful texture to the song. However, it is the gorgeous vocal delivery and tunefulness that are really striking. Michelle Greco supplies haunting backing vocals that swell and soar as the song grows. Her voice combines perfectly with Rosenthal’s in a timeless blend.

Directed by Mac, the moody video finds Rosenthal in the East River Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The visual captures a feeling we can probably all associate with – at the end of a long working week, trying to find some peace and solace over a quiet beer in familiar surroundings.

Rosenthal’s self-titled and well-received debut was released on 30th May 2025. ‘Where the Lights Get Low’ is the third single of his follow-up album, which we can expect in early 2026. Inspired by country artists like Tyler Childers and Charley Crockett, as well as a range of quality songwriters, including Petty and McCartney, Rosenthal developed his solo material in a makeshift home studio, immersing himself in music after his baseball career. He’s a compelling writer – check it out.
