Here's one to set the cat among the, um, hawks, but what's your favourite Jayhawks album, and I suppose a follow-up question, is the band better when Olson is in it?
Rainy Day Music - obviously
The only one I have is 'Smile' (which I like) so I'll be checking out other people's favs.
If I recall correctly I bought it after hearing 'I'm gonna make you love me' which has the lazy Byrdsy/Teenage Fanclub thing going on that I like.
It's obvious, Hollywood Town Hall, and yes, the band were diminished after Olson's departure. Next question...
I'd agree it's probably Hollywood Town Hall and they probably aren't as good without Olson although my runner-up would be Sound of Lies which makes me cry more than any other Jayhawks album.
Hollywood Town Hall for me too. And definitely with the pair of them. Their duo album and tour were clinchers for me although the subsequent Jayhawks album and tour were a bit underwhelming.
Rainy Day Music followed by Hollywood Town Hall
Depends on my mood but it's either Hollywood Town Hall or Sound of Lies.
Sound of Lies I’m afraid you’re wrong Paul
I still maintain that "Smile" is one of the best songs they ever released although I know you don't agree Keith!
@markamericana Smile is just such a brilliant car crash of an album. And the cover very, very clever.
Tomorrow the Green Grass for me.
