Appaloosa‘ is the latest single from the upcoming album “American Mythology,” from the Nashville-based folk duo of Dale Chapman (they/them) and Cody Clark (he/him), who together are Haunted Like Human. It’s their first release since 2021’s “Tall Tales & Fables”, and whilst the carefully crafted songs might touch on stories of gods and magical creatures, it is, for Haunted Like Human, the spark of humanity within the tales that makes them worth another telling.

Haunted Like Human told Americana UK that: “‘Appaloosa’ is a song about falling in with someone you believe is far better than you. The main character sees themselves as a screw up in a lot of ways, but they know that their partner makes them a better person.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
